The Junkers CL.I was the first ever cantilever monoplane design to enter production, it utilised corrugated duralumin wings and front fuselage with fabric covering only being used on the rear fuselage, it was produced by Junkers as the J10, it's first flight was made on the 4th of May 1918, in military service it was given the designation CL.I. The Junkers CL.I entered active service late in WWI (summer 1918), only 47 aircraft being delivered prior to the Armistice, use was limited to the Eastern Front where it fulfilled a role we would now call a fighter bomber or multi-role aircraft as it was designed to operate as both an escort and ground attack aircraft.
