Powered by twin Alvis Leonides radial piston engines, the Twin Pioneer 3 was British STOL transport aircraft with it's distinctive triple fin and rudder assembly and fixed undercarriage was designed and built by Scottish Aviation Ltd. and first flew in 1955. The Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer 3 was used extensively by British Military forces in the Malayan Emergency and the later Borneo conflict. In 1977 Scottish Aviation became part of British Aerospace, now BAe Systems. The aircraft pictured above is G-APRS (cn 561) originally XT610 (RAF).
