The de Havilland DH.90 Dragonfly Light Transport aircraft was effectively a de Havilland DH.89 re-designed from the ground up incorporating the lessons learned from building the record breaking de Havilland DH.88 Comet racer, it was more compact, faster, had greater range and looked modern! Whilst the DH.90 Dragonfly was not designed for the RAF, The outbreak of WW2 resulted in 23 Dragonflies being impressed into RAF service, unfortunately only six of these de Havilland DH.90 Dragonflys were to survive WW2. A total of 67 de Havilland DH.90 Dragonflys were built and the lessons learned from the advanced wooden structure design of the Comet racer were honed into a mass production methodology with the DH.90 Dragonfly, this experience was to become the corner stone of of the famous WW2 de Havilland Mosquito fighter bomber design. de Havilland DH.90 Dragonfly Specifications: - Length: 31 ft 8 in (9.65 m)
