The T-2 Buckeye was designed by North American as a US navy training aircraft with carrier landing capabilities in the late 1950's, it has now been superseded by the McDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk. The name Buckeye reflects the origin of the aircraft, the Buckeye is the state tree Ohio where all 273 Buckeye's were built in Air Force Plant 85.
