Gloster Meteor T7 Military Trainer Plane

 

The Gloster Meteor T7 was produced as a two seat dual-control advanced fighter trainer based on the Meteor F4 fighter, it entered RAF service in 1948 and was the RAF's first jet trainer and the world's first dual-control jet trainer. The prototype first flew in March 1948 and a total of over 680 Gloster Meteor T.7's were produced between 1949 and 1954, the vast majority serving with the RAF. The RAF retired the last of it's Meteor T7 trainers in the early 1970's in favour of more modern aircraft such as the DH Vampire and the Fleet Air Arm retired it's last Gloster Meteor T7 in 1972.
