The Westland Gazelle, was produced as part of an Anglo-French venture between Westland and Aerospatiale in 1968, it remains to this day one of the fastest helicopters ever built. The Gazelle is in service with the RAF in the observation and reconnaissance role to direct Artillery fire, Airborne Forward Air Controller of ground-attack aircraft, casualty evacuation, liaison, and command and control as well as a communications relay platform. The British Army utilised the Gazelle it's amphibious role in the Falkland Islands war and more recently in the deserts of Kuwait and Iraq. Westland Gazelle Specifications: Optional armament: |
